Kurt Walther is a unique abstract artist who uses layered block prints, printed objects, line, found objects and washes of colour to create multi layered paintings.
Kurt’s work ia filled with an intriguing business of colour, image and line. He has been exploring visual arts all of his adult life and in recent years began working at Loretta Studios and Gallery in Hintonburg, Ottawa.
Since 2015, Walther’s artwork has been exhibited in galleries, cafes and other venues throughout Ottawa.
After solo exhibits at the Atomic Rooster and Irene’s in 2017, in March 2018 he partnered with Guillermo Esquerra Diaz in Trinidad de Cuba in the exhibition “Tom is a Boy, Mary is a Girl, Memories From the Garden”, as part of a cultural exchange project hosted by Cubanocanadian.
Although visual art has of late taken on an important role in his life, Walther is also an accomplished guitarist and bass player who has been working out of Ottawa as a composer, arranger, songwriter and teacher for thirty years.
He has a discography of over thirty albums to his credit in the capacities of arranger, writer, producer and instrumentalist.
